So much fun this week. As always you can download the whole mix HEREEEEE.

Life Alone – Immuzikation
Heard this song for the first time in an American Apparel two years ago and its been stuck in my head ever since. Thats how hipster it is. Its also really good though

Bonfire – Childish Gambino
New song by Troy from Community. Not a huge fan of the chorus but the verse is like a darker version of A Milli which I’m a fan of.

ABC (A-Skillz Remix) – Jackson 5
Just so good.

PIMPING – Heartbreak & JWL5
Gotta get the moombah flowing. This week its so good. Turn your subs up.

Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Extended Remix) – Deadmau5
Such a great remix. Just such a great remix.

The Island Pt II – Pendulum
Got asked by someone if I could play The Island by Steve Angello last week at Ma Bells. I’d just like to clear the air that the Island is NOT by Steve Angello. Its by Pendulum. This is part 2.

Hey Baby – Deadmau5 & Melleefresh
Old school Deadmau5 back when he was @play. This song is such a beast on huge speakers though.

Promise Me A Rose Garden – The M Machine
The M Machine is coming on so strong at the moment. This is why.

Young Wild & Free (Karetus Remix) – Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa
Takes a while to get going but never gets boring. Ever. I promise.

Who Da Neighbors (Gooffee Remix) – Juicy J
Its like dubstep, hip-hop, bloody beetroots, and attitude all rolled into one 3 minute package.

Hope reading week was fun for y’all! We’ve got a great playlist for this week. Tried to get it up as soon as possible (thats what she said). The dubstep section has been replaced with some house to change things up and we’ve included a few more legit hip-hop tunes to get you through coming back to “reality.” As always, download the full playlist HEREEEEE.

Final Frontier (Feat. Blue Print) – RJD2
Super chill but super awesome hip-hop tune to start.

Wide Eyes (feat. Chali 2na) – Mustard Pimp
First heard this song on Mustard Pimp’s album mini mix and just had this songs 15 second clip on repeat for about 3 days. Pretty sure I even played it at a party. All 15 seconds of it. Song is not a disappointment.

War Paint (Original Mix) – What So? Not
Such a good groove. I think we all have that one friend who is really in to music like this. This song is for them.

Me and You (Steve Angello Remix) – Nero
This song is so my speed its not even funny. To be honest I’ve never really been in to Nero, Steve Angello, or this song but to say that this song is not a banger is tantamount to saying that Don Draper isn’t the MAN.

Pardon My French (Original Mix) – Pierce Fulton
Starts out slow but builds speed then gets awesome at about 2:00.

Monstamash Disco (Skrillex // Kaskade // Lucky Date // Krewella // Hypercrush // Major Lazer) – 3LAU
Posted the orignial version of this last week. If I’m honest the vocals sometimes down really work (especially the Major Lazer ones at the beginning) but its all made up for in the second verse when you get that really sassy lady spitting a sick verse. #swag.

All Apologies (Sound Remedy Remix) – Nirvana
First heard this at a party then decided I needed to find it and distribute it. Good Nirvana remixes are like rare pokémon. Almost impossible to find, but when you do, they’re so worth it.

Sun (Midland Re-edit) – Caribou
More chill house. As it gets colder, we all get a little more subdued. This song has such a palpable after party vibe to it.

Home (Whole-Z Remix) – Edward Sharpe
Ok this song might be a little more electro-y but its got a really timeless hook so that makes up for it. ENJOY.

Castles In The Snow – Twin Shadow
Good chillwave vibes.

C-ya next week!

The whole project, titled 1/2 uses the same process to merge two or more images to make some seriously intense and mind bending images. If I stare at some of those photos long enough, I can convince myself that they’re actually profile views.

Not sure whether its the 3 day Halloween party that has just barely ended or Bongo Ball the night before but I feel like my week is just now starting. I’m pretty sure its Bongo Ball.

For those who don’t know, Bongo is an event thats only been around for a few years but has somehow solidified a reputation as one of the best and, more importantly, unique nights of the year. I’m not saying it was perfect, Bongo is never perfect. Thats part of its charm though. It has the distinct ability to fall short in certain areas and yet somehow, perhaps its the incredibly dedicated community that organizes it, the sense of joy within that old airplane hangar when you arrive is always palpable year after year.

I wont make this a long and drawn out description of every detail of the event, so here are the highlights:

The Zambula band has played better sets in past years. Not sure if it was the new sound system they had for this year (which was much smaller and, in my opinion, not loud enough), or perhaps the new stage, but they seemed a lot more subdued than they have been in the past. They also could have been really high.

Burgers were as delicious as always. One of my favorite parts of Bongo is the free burgers. Its such a good idea for events just to provide something for guests eat. Keeps blood sugar up and people out of ambulances.

The music was not loud enough in the main room or the chill out tent this year. Last year, the main hangar must have had 2 10 foot stacks on either side of the stage. This year they had about 1/3 of the sound. I’m not sure if it was a licensing issue or perhaps they got noise complaints and couldn’t get the same rig, but it was kind of a let down. After the band finished their set though, the DJs from the chill out tent asked to have the band’s monitors moved into their tent so they could get some more decent sound. Completely changed the vibe of the room and probably has a lot to do with my final point:

The chill out tent was incredible this year. By the end of the night there were probably more people dancing in the chill out tent than in the main room. Good vibes.

Also, the costumes are always something else:

Look a wild herd of Giraffes!

You know we roll in the “hood” at Bongo.

So. Many. Giraffes. Plus a tiger and, this is just a guess but, a frog?

Even the DJ got into it. Colloquially, I think he was called deadli0n.

i!! – Nadastrom

Again more epic moombah from the men who started it this time.

California Dreaminn – Savoy

Fun twist on the classic 60′s track.

Lick It (Original Mix) – Kaskade & Skrillex

No one has yet to dislike this song as far as I’m aware so don’t judge it by the artists, give it a listen.

The Way Marvin Was (Big Sean vs. Wolfgang Gartner) – The Hood Internet

I love the funky sounds goin on and with Big Sean over, how can you go wrong?

Radio Techno Allah – Mustard Pimp

Was literally counting down the days until Mustard Pimp’s album came out. Was kind of a let down if I’m honest but there were a few gems on there that really stood out. This is one of them.

I Put A Spell On You – MiMOSA

Graduation – Gemini

Gemini’s second EP. This kid is crazy young like 19 or something. He’s done so well crafting really beautiful melodies while managing to keep his jump-up vibe going.

Palace Chalice – Mux Mool

Super chill. Always good to have come chillwave in your life.

Sorry for taking so long for this week’s playlist. Its worth the wait though we promise. As always, you can download the whole thing in .zip file HEREEEEE.

Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover. Nuff said. He’s so sweet, there’s an internet community decided to his comic crying.

Difficult (Sebastian’s 2006 Parties Remix) – Uffie

Uffie and Sebasitan. Some call them hipsters, others just call them french. We call them awesome.

Ultra Light (Original Remix) – Surkin

The bass is so great in this song. Make sure you have some good speakers.

Hot Rod – Rufio feat. Hervé

So much fun. Again, epic bass. Turn it up.

What Happens in Vegas – Chuckie feat. Gregor Salto

Hold You (Major Lazer edit) – Gyptian

Kind old but also kinda fantastic and in my opinion, its never gotten enough plays.

Somebody to Love Me (Congorock Remix) – Mark Ronson ft. Boy George

Never enjoyed this song until I heard it in a club, then everything changed.

Werk Me – Hyper Crush

Seriously this song is on repeat in spotify right now.

Julia (B Complex Remix) – The Very Best

SO happy. Such a good time. Makes me think of Bongo Ball (which I can’t wait for BTW)

Play (Los Rakas Remix) – Goapele
