Thigh High Boots, The New Animal Print?
Trendy:

Have you ever noticed that animal prints and fur is largely worn by either the rich and famous or… well prostitutes? No offense to my working ladies out there. The material, when done well, can give off an air of luxury and importance… but when imitated it can go horribly, horribly wrong. Thus the same style becomes known as tacky, making it extremely difficult for the anyone else in between to pull off! I have noticed a similar trend in thigh-high boots. Thigh-high boots have mostly been worn by prostitutes and stripers, although they did make a quick appearance in 80′s pop culture. However, recently we have seen this low-end style become transformed into a high-end trend. Stuart Weizman, Roberto Cavalli, and Manolo Blahnik are some of the few designers who have contributed in turning this ‘street style’ into fashion fit for the run way. Now celebrities such as Madonna, Kate Moss, Hillary Duff, Jennifer Lopez, Riahana, and many more are zipping up and strutting the streets in their skin tight thigh-highs. I really do have to give it to the designers for this one, because they saw potential among all the tackiness. By up grading the material and cleaning up the lines of what were once known as striper-boots, the designers created this new rising trend. And unlike with animal print and fur, there are less expensive, but still stylish, options for thigh-high boots are available at TopShop.
